This program teaches doctoral students and MS students who have earned a credit in their MS English courses and plan to pursue a doctoral degree. The students study in this program for one term (in the fall term or the spring term), which is equal to about 16 weeks. The final and aggregate grade of a student=(final exam)*60%+(the grades from the speaking or listening class)+(the grades from the writing or reading class). The final exam, which has listening, reading and writing sections, is organized by the Foreign Languages Department (NOT given by individual instructors in their classes), and is a school-wide exam for all the students who have signed up for the PhD English classes. Instructors will be responsible for giving a 20-based grade to each student in the writing and speaking classes. Each class meets once a week.
